Shellee Lapioli

November 20, 1957 — March 5, 2023

Provo, Utah

After an extended period of poor health, Shellee Jeanne Isaacs, 65, passed away peacefully as her devoted son, Wes, held her hand. The youngest of three children, Shellee was born to Bruce and Adele Saville Isaacs, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Shellee was full of fun, being raised in an idyllic home setting, where devotion to God, love, humor, and music abounded.

From early childhood she loved to entertain. Known for her funny personality, flowing red hair and angelic singing voice, she had many opportunities to perform. Her sensitive, compassionate nature endeared her to many who hungered for acceptance. She loved easily and desired to share her love with all who came her way.

She was a defender of her faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a fierce advocate for correct principles. She adored her precious family, friends, and pets, often expressing her gratitude for the ministering of countless neighbors, church members and friends.

Shellee worked as a professional singer and as a CNA. She married Ewald Lapioli in 1981, aware that treatments for Hodgkin’s Disease would likely prevent her from having children. Though her marriage was short-lived, a miraculous surprise and delight blessed her life when she gave birth to Wes. Being a good mother and raising a righteous son was her heart’s ambition. Her desire has been satisfied as Wes was always her greatest support, joy, and strength. In the last 12 years her happiness has expanded even more as “Grandma Shellee” to Wes’s 6 children.

Shellee loved doing genealogy and discovering ancestors through family history. But her favorite pastime was as a skilled story writer and composer. Shellee’s songs often reflected her deep faith as she endured life’s difficulties. She hoped her presentations and music could help others understand that they were not alone.

Shellee will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, and is survived by Wes Lapioli, (Michelle) grandchildren, Ian, Abram, Ines, Ike, Elora, Alycia Provo, Utah; sister Jan Mayer (Richard), Cedar Hills, Utah; Randy Isaacs, Marilyn), Centennial, Colorado; 8 nieces and Nephews, and 18 grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2225 West 620 North, Provo, Utah.  Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
