Obituary

Paul Huth Schneiter's mortal journey ended Friday, October 21, 2022, "just when I was getting the hang of it." He arrived December 9, 1935, in Ogden, Utah, the fourth of five children born to Robert and Madeline Huth Schneiter. He graduated from Weber College and Utah State University and completed graduate work at the University of Utah.

He was editor of Student Life at USU. He received the University Award, the highest honor bestowed at that time on one male and one female graduate. He served America in Wuezburg, Germany, where he was editor of the 3rd infantry Division's newspaper The Marne Rock. He was assigned to an army reserve unit after active duty, but subsequently qualified to become a commissioned officer in the Air Force Reserve.

Paul's first job was as a technical writer for Hercules, lnc. (Manufacturer of rocket motors for Minuteman and Polaris missiles). Later, he became director of development marketing for BYU, and still later director of the Central Utah Health Care Foundation. After retirement, he became an adjunct English teacher at Utah Valley University.

Paul met his angel companion, Patricia Lee Olsen, in kindergarten. They were married June 6, 1962, in the Salt Lake Temple. "l struck gold," he said.

At an early age, Paul manifested a love for words. Throughout his professional life he freelanced for a variety of clients. ln addition, he wrote dozens of poems and authored several nationally distributed books, including the acclaimed “Rise, With Healing ln Our Wings”: “Extraordinary stories from the life of an ordinary Mormon”.

Paul was an active Latter-day Saint throughout his life.
