Meaningful Gift Ideas

Mark Bohon Werner loved puns, Star Wars and Star Trek, beautiful music, and tropical fish. More importantly, he loved his family and grandchildren. His home was filled with laughter, love, and light. Mark was a man of faith who regularly testified of his love of the Savior and his family, many of whom surrounded his bed when he passed on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the age of 70.

Although most of his life was spent in Utah, he was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Merlo Nadine Bohon and Johnson Kent Werner, and spent his childhood in California. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Austria, he attended BYU and later received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Phoenix. When his children were young, he worked as an accountant, but was always drawn to technology and computers. He pursued his passion to work in IT, eventually teaching Apple classes at UVU and servicing the IT department at DoTerra.

Throughout his life, Mark was known for his peaceful nature and his desire to care for his family in the best way possible. At times this meant he would help with technology or computer needs, and at other times he would advise and teach his family. His love for family extended to his callings in his church where he served as a temple worker and a temple and family history lead.

Mark is survived by his wife, Laurie; his children and step-children, Mark Ryan (Aubrey) Werner, Annaliese (Lonnie) Salisbury, Jesse (Amy) Leué, Marisa (Jon) Hill, Emily (Klint) Capell, Kristina (Derek) Hansen, Tracy (Rob) Jackson, Phillip (Emily) Leué, Molly (Benjamin) Burgener, and Tim (Jamie) Leué; his siblings, Brenda (Phil) Maloy, Bunny (Lee) Myers, Marsha (Chad) Maughan, and Jay (Leslie) Werner; and his 33 grandchildren.
