Lyle Clements

May 31, 1939 — June 21, 2021

Lyle Rodger Clements, loving husband, father and grandfather, age 82 passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones in Lehi, Utah on Monday June 21st. He was born May 31, 1939 to Welby and Grace Clements and was the 4th of 7 children. They resided in American Fork where he graduated in 1957. He served in the Army from 1957‐1960 where he was a paratrooper, completing 36 jumps in 3 years. He worked at General Refractories in Lehi for 39 years before retiring and making, selling jewelry out of his shop. He had two children from his first marriage and two from his second before meeting his eternal Lady and companion, Kathryn Garlick Clements. They were married September 25, 1971 which was later solemnized in the Provo, Utah temple. They moved to Lehi in 1973 and reside there still. Rod served in many church callings, including the Sunday school presidency, ward clerk, greeter and several years in the scouting program. Rod loved spending time with his sons outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, often tying his own flies in his shop. His favorite sports he played were bowling and golf. He loved watching football and there was always a Western playing on TV. He also enjoyed card nights with family. He will be dearly
missed by everyone.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Garlick Clements, children LanaRae Clements, Pleasant Grove UT., Rick (Alyse) Clements, Blanding UT., Kenneth (Diane) Clements, Orem UT., Dustin (Pam) Clements, Cedar City UT., Monica Guest (Chris), Eagle Mountain UT., Andy (Marcia) Clements, Lehi UT., Jill Gale (Matthew), Provo UT., and Christian Clements, Lehi UT., 32 grandchildren and several great‐grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son “Baby” Rodger Clements, grandson Dylan Clements, parents Welby and Grace Clements, siblings Darold Clements, Martin Clements and Shirley Price.

A memorial open house will be held Saturday June 26th, from 3‐4pm at the Lehi Central Stake Center located at 200 N. Center street in Lehi, UT. Interment will be at the Lehi Cemetery. The family wishes to express a special thank you to all family and friends who have helped in this difficult time, to Bristol Home Health and Hospice and Sundberg‐Olpin Mortuary for their kindness, patience, and compassion.
