Linda Whittaker

January 9, 1947 — May 19, 2023

Orem, UT

Linda S Whittaker, 76 of Orem, passed away 19 May 2023.  She was born 9 January 1947 in Glendale, CA to Arnold Leslie Struhs and June Wessman Struhs.  She married David Jay Whittaker on 10 September 1966 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. She remained an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings throughout her life.

She grew up in Lynnwood, CA.  She loved the Southern California beaches and returned to them frequently.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University.  She met her husband at BYU, and she supported him and his educational pursuits and career culminating in both working at BYU.  He as a professor and she as the Department of Chemistry Secretary and as an Administrative Assistant to an academic vice president.  She fully participated in numerous University Study Abroad programs in England with her husband and they returned to England to serve a full-time senior mission following their retirement from the University.  She loved to travel throughout the world, but London remained her second home.  She was a great photographer, capturing on film all the places she visited.  She leaves behind her husband David, four children:  Julie Ann, Jennifer (Robert), Kristen and Stephen (Lyndsey), in addition to nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She visited gardens throughout the world and loved gardening in her own yard, so it was appropriate that she died in the Spring as her own garden was in bloom.  There will be no funeral and she will be buried in the Benjamin City, UT Cemetery.
