Gumecindo Morales

Gumecindo Morales, 79, of Orem, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020.  He was born January 7, 1941, in Michoacan, Mexico, to Maria del Socorro Morales Torres and Pascual Morales Bravo.  He married Maria Virginia Morales Villa on April 19, 1967 and was sealed to her for time and eternity on November 20, 1987 in the Mexico City Temple.

Gumecindo was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He loved working on his garden and teaching his grandkids how to work it.  One of his biggest passions was agriculture.  He spent all of his life in Mexico growing crops to provide for his family; he loved to have chickens, cows, and all sorts of farm animals.  He also loved retail and had one of the best grocery stores in his town.  He was humble, loving, and compassionate, always willing to help his neighbor with a smile on his face.  He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He served as a home teacher and high priest.

Gumecindo is survived by his wife Maria Virginia Morales Villa 77, from Orem, UT, and his 8 children: Martin Fernando (Annette) from Orem, UT, Miguel (Rosa) from Orem, UT, Gumercindo (Heidi) from Pleasant Grove, UT, Alavro (Ana) from Orem, UT, Lorena (Eduardo) from Houston, TX, Leticia (Dalton) from Lehi, UT, Mireya (Felipe) from Orem, UT, Ramon from Orem, UT; 24 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the Windsor 8th LDS Chapel located at 1505 East Timberwolf Trail, Orem.  Prior to the services there will be a viewing for friends and family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
