Elva Sorensen

Elva (Olsen) Sorensen passed away Sunday, September 26th, 2021, just shy of her 89th birthday. She died peacefully in her home with many of her family members at her side.

Elva was born October 6th, 1932, to Lamar and Lareda Olsen of Emery, Utah.

She was married to her sweetheart, Edgar Birdell Sorensen, on January 22nd, 1949 and later sealed in the Manti Temple. She had a deep and abiding testimony of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

A driven and intelligent woman, Elva took over as the family breadwinner after her husband was disabled. The pair instilled that same drive and intelligence in their 9 children, 2 boys and 7 girls. She wants all her family to know of her great love for each and every individual member. Elva knew they all have great potential and encourages them all to achieve their dreams and goals.

Elva enjoyed playing the accordion, teaching her grandchildren to cheat at card games, reading, dark humor, crocheting, and solving cryptogram puzzles. Always adventurous, she even bagged a six-point buck with a bow and arrow. In her later years, she traveled with her daughters to many places around the World.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edgar Birdell Sorensen. Their posterity includes 9 children, 45 grandchildren, 97 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Lindon 10th Ward LDS Church located at 1051 East 200 South in Lindon, with a viewing held that morning at the church from 9:30 -10:30 am prior to the services.  Burial will be in the Lindon City Cemetery.
