Earl Jacob

Earl Isaac Jacob was born on December 12, 1923 to Isaac Ellis and Nellie Maud Badger Jacob in Hinckley, UT in the home of his grandparents, Nathan Bradley and Nellie Jane Theobold Badger. He passed away peacefully on October 8, 2019.  Earl was the last survivor of his family which included one sister and two brothers one of which was his twin, Verl.  He was proceeded in death by his wife, Louise, his parents, his three siblings, 2 grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He graduated from Lincoln High School. While attending High School he met the love of his life and his future wife, Louise Omer to whom he married the day after her graduation. He then attended a Trade School in Provo and left 2 months before graduating to take a job in Salt Lake City.

Earl and Louise were married on May 14, 1942 and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on February 3, 1943. Earl was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings including a service mission at the Bishop’s Storehouse in Lindon, UT until the age of 94. He also served many years as a temple worker in both the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples.

At the young age of 21, Earl was drafted into the US Army. He was a machinist for the Army Engineers. He worked on invasion boats in the Pacific and served under General MacArthur. He had a passion for the Navy, however, he was turned down due to being color blind.  As a result, Earl had to pull surface watch looking for submarines in the Pacific. He spent time after World War II in Japan where he earned enough points to come home.

Earl is survived by four sons, David (Jeannie deceased) CO, Lewis (Ruby) WA, Roger (Mary) AZ, and Farrell (Suzanne) UT. He also had four daughters that he loved as his own; Erlene (Ted) Lott, Kathie (Tom) Hunter, Marilyn (Larry) Wursten, and Ann (Dan) Pierce all from UT. His biological posterity includes 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019. A viewing will be held at 9:30am followed by services at 11:00am at Timpview 4th Ward Chapel located at 1075 W 1100 N Orem, UT 84057. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed and memories shared to the family on this page.
