Charles Ferre

February 6, 1941 — June 22, 2021

Charles “Chuck” Alma Ferre, 80, of Orem Utah passed away on June 22, 2021 surrounded by family and many loved ones.  Born on February 6, 1941 in Murray, Utah to Alma and Ruth Ferre.  Charles is a proud alumnus of Orem High School.  He married his forever sweetheart Patricia Ford on December 5th, 1960, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.  Sealed together in the Provo Temple, September, 1990.

Charles became a master electrician attending school at Utah Technical College and joined the electrical union Local I.B.E.W. 354, and recently received his 60th year membership pin.  Charles worked on the I.P.P. Power Plant and said, “there is probably not a power plant in Utah I did not work on". He took pride in his work on the B.Y.U. bell tower, Geneva Steel, Rice Eccles Stadium during the 2002 Winter Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Kennecott Copper Mine, Green River Missile Base, and various other projects in other states.

Charles has many hobbies including gardening, tying flies, fishing, hunting big game and waterfowl.  Some other favorite pastimes include painting decoys, and making yard decorations.  He spent many hours with his sweetheart making a garden oasis in their yard together and has received multiple beautification awards from the city. He always kept the birds and hummingbirds well fed in their sanctuary. Charles was a natural comedian and he had a wonderful, deep, booming singing voice.  Above all he loved spending time with his family which included Ferre holidays such as Chocolate Day, Cherry Day, Lemon Day, Coconut Day along with other holidays.  Every day with his family is a celebration!

Survived by his wife Patricia, and his six children, Thane (Cindy) Ferre, Charlene (Brady) Christensen, Nanette (Clark) Jensen, Monica (Blain) Rasmussen, Elayne (Michael) McArthur,  and Ryan (Lisa) Ferre. Charles has 43 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-great grandchild.
