Meaningful Gift Ideas

Carol Edith Allred Tippetts, 88, of Orem Utah, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away on September 13, 2021 at home of Renal Kidney Failure.  She was born November 19, 1932 in Spring City Utah, to Curtis Delene Allred and Mamie Lela May Boyce (Rusk) Allred.  She married Stanley Rogers Tippetts on December 27, 1950, in Spring City, Utah.

Carol studied at North Sanpete High School and graduated from Snow College Lower Division in Ephraim, Utah on May 17, 1951.

Carol was a devoted homemaker and worked with her husband at their business Stan’s Tune-Up.  She also worked at BYU and UVU Bookstores.

Carol is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She faithfully served in the Relief Society Presidency, and gladly helped others in various callings in the primary and library.   She regularly served and happily assisted patrons in Provo and Mt. Timpanogos Temple Baptistries for 30 years. She loved diligently studying the scriptures and had a firm testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

She was an avid reader and loved researching her Family’s History and participating in the Temple ordinances daily. She loved to stay occupied through knitting, sewing, gardening, cooking, canning and caring for plants.  She had a large collection of Christmas Cacti and carefully grew moon flowers every year.

Her greatest treasure was her family.  She spent countless hours sewing clothes for her children.  Knitting was a hobby she enjoyed teaching to many youth from her ward and family.  In her later life she knitted thousands of dishcloths she gave away to friends and family.  Carol enthusiastically collected recipes, cooked and shared everything she made.  She was proud of a Tippetts Family Tradition:  38 years of monthly family dinners only interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.  During these gatherings she cared for every member of her family and lovingly taught and passed on family recipes and traditions.   She loved spending time with her family.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lela Fay Hafen, brother William LaVar Allred, and daughter Charlotte Ann Tippetts Llewellyn.  Carol is survived by her husband, Stanley Rogers Tippetts, and her children: Allan Tippetts and Jeannie Hiatt, Phillip Llewellyn, Boyd and Pauleen Tippetts, Denice and Paul Porter, Eda and Allen Hill, Floyd and Holly Tippetts, Sister Phyllis Adelene Lund, Brother Curtis Von Allred, 18 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren (with 3 more on the way).

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Hillcrest 8th Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel located at 1035 South 800 East, Orem, Utah.  A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin & Wheeler Mortuary located at 495 South State Street in Orem and on Saturday just prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  The interment will be in the Spring City Cemetery.
