Obituary

Bonnie Jean Jensen Dalebout, 80, of Brentwood, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023.

She was born January 8, 1943, in Provo, Utah to Nelda Maurine Spendlove and Roland Aaron Jensen as the 2nd of 5 daughters. She had a happy and loving childhood. She enjoyed playing basketball and participating in theater while in school. She graduated in 1961 from Hazelwood High School in Florissant, Missouri.

She married Jeffery Archer Stephens on February 12, 1965, in Florissant, Missouri. They had two daughters, Stacy Ann (Ron) Gomer of Saratoga Springs, Utah, and Chéri Lynn (Laurence) Pitcher of Nolensville, Tennessee. After their divorce, she raised both girls in Los Alamitos, California. Although it wasn’t easy for her to raise the girls alone, she was an independent, strong-willed woman and completely devoted to caring for the girls even through hard times. She loved and cherished her family and lived her life as a faithful woman of God, teaching her children through her example.

Bonnie was so blessed when Dennis Raymond Dalebout came into her life. Dennis and Bonnie were sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on April 20, 1990. Bringing into her family a new daughter, Beverly Denise (Laurence) Brassfield of Provo, Utah and two sons Dennis Raymond Dalebout II of Huntington Beach, California, and Thomas McVernon (Nancy) Dalebout of Huntington Beach, California.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and lovingly served in many capacities as the Ward Librarian, Stake Girls Camp Director, Regional Women’s Athletic Director, Primary Chorister, Newport Beach California Temple Ordinance Worker and Relief Society President in both California and Utah.

She enjoyed dancing with the Flora Dora Girls, camping in the summers with her daughters, singing in choirs and musicals as well as sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and was proud to be the best school bus driver in town! Everyone loved her sense of humor, kindness, and her unconditional love.

She will forever be missed, but the memories and love she passed on to generations of her family will not be forgotten. We love you mom!

Bonnie is survived by 2 sisters, 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Dennis, her parents Roland and Nelda, sisters Deanna and Sharry and granddaughter Carol.
