Bonnie Ashby

Bonnie Christina Ashby, 78, of Orem, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019. She was born August 29, 1941, in Price, Utah, to Phyllis Mulligan and Gerald Allred. Bonnie was lived and was raised with her grandmother, Christina “Tania” Krebbs. They had a special bond. Bonnie lived with her grandmother until about the age twelve at which time she moved in with her mother, Phyllis and step-father, Samuel Conover. She married David A. Ashby, September 16, 1972, and was sealed in the Provo temple, July 16,1993

Bonnie found joy in being the center of her family, taking care of neighbors, and serving those in need. She loved children and took tremendous joy in tending several children in her home. Over the course of her life, she had several callings in the primary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In her own words,”God must have put me on this earth to watch over his little children.” She served as a missionary for the church in Iceland in 2010, and served a service mission in the Bishops Storehouse from 2013-2016.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, David A. Ashby of Orem, Utah, four children: W. Joe Ashby (Brenda) of American Fork, Utah, Gerald S. Ashby (Nichole) of Lehi, Utah, Alan D. Ashby (Lisa) of Leander, Texas, and Christina K. Marcano (Cruz) of Murray, Utah; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and her sister Barbra Gull. Preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Conover, step-father Samuel Conover, and brother Sam Conover.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Sunset Heights 8th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, located 500 South 600 West, Orem, Utah, 84058. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Both will be held at the above mentioned church. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
