Venna Louise Nebeker Peavler, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother returned to her heavenly home November 27, 2023. She was born August 9,1938 in Fairview Wyoming to Howard and Etta Swenson Nebeker.
Venna was the youngest and being the only girl in the family sometimes had its benefits but mostly it was the same…hard work that each member of the family shared, 24/7 is farm life! She was blessed to be surrounded by family in the beautiful Star Valley with the addition of the Peavler’s through marriage. This became a very large group and she loved all of her in-laws as much as her own big family, through thick and thin, this never changed! Family was everything to Venna, her love for all of her nieces and nephews was powerful, she was always interested in how they were doing. She was proud of being a Star Valley High graduate. She graduated in the class of 1956. Those who have ever lived in Star Valley for any length of time know that no matter where you live when asked where you are from, Star Valley is always the answer. She loved work and was renowned for being a hard worker. This pattern of work became her trademark. Her job at Microrel in Tempe Arizona was a swing shift job. She was a single mom, raising 7 kids at the same time. Perhaps only those who shared this experience would understand (not many). She loved her BYU work experience. She enjoyed most working with part-time students. Many still, to this day, send notes and cards expressing how much they enjoyed working with her! Got one today!
Venna loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite calling was visiting teaching supervisor and loved visiting with the sisters of the ward. She had a testimony of Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer and worked hard to create this as a family legacy. Venna loved to drive and loved to garden. She would take her grandchildren to Star Valley to stay at the family home. Grandchildren were everything to her. She would try to be to each child’s birth while working a full-time job. Endearing to all of us, the words on her headstone state “call me grandmother”.
She is survived by her 7 loving children, Jerry (Tammie) Peavler, Andy (Marlene) Peavler, Sandra (Bill) Thompson, Lafe (Vicky) Peavler, Blake (Sharee) Peavler, April (Darin) Martin, Alisa (Tony) Peko, 30 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers Duane, Ken, and Darrell.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant View 9th Ward Chapel located at 2445 N 650 E (Timpview Dr.), Provo, Utah 84604. There will be a viewing preceding the funeral at 9:30a.m. Interment will take place at the Utah Orem City Cemetery afterwards.
