Velda Williams Harward passed away peacefully at her home on February 13, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born August 25 1927 in Phoenix, Arizona to Vernal and Bergeta Jesperson Williams. Velda is preceded in death by her sweetheart and husband VerDon Harward, their son Randall V Harward, her parents and siblings Verl Gaylen Williams, Dalvin Williams, Colleen W. Beeson, and Forest Williams.
Velda is survived by her children Sharen (George) Olson, Susan (Mike) Bezzant, Laurie (Dennis) Bird, Rod (Sharon) Harward, Julie (Dallas) Stephens and sister Carolyn Bargeron, brother O. Blair (Margaret)Williams, 44 grandchildren, 168 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Velda held various church callings including Primary and Sunday School teacher, Young Women councilor, Young Women President, Relief Society President and Jordan River Temple ordinance worker.
She worked at Wakefield's Music Company, and Utah Valley Hospital as a Lab secretary. But her best and main job was being an excellent mother and first assistant to her husband in all their home improvement projects, vegetable, fruit and flower gardens.
She was a thoughtful woman, generous in her love and substance to her family and those around her. She was patient and kind. And lived by her wish for all, to "have a happy day".
Velda loved to explore the out of doors with VerDon and found beauty in all she saw. Together they went rock hounding, camping, sightseeing and road trips exploring America. She had a beautiful singing voice and her children loved to hear her sing as she worked, played and sang bedtime lullabies. She also sang in church choirs and singing groups. She loved to quote poetry, scriptures, and noteworthy little thoughts.
Her children and posterity love her and will miss her, along with all the lives she touched.
