Theodore "Ted" Taylor

Theodore M. “Ted” Taylor, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on Saturday, August 25, 2018. He was born November 16, 1938 to Theodore M. Taylor and Clara Mae Orton Taylor at their family home in Provo. Ted attended schools in Provo graduating from Provo High in the class of 1956.  Ted married Ella Annette Wing on February 9,1963 in the same room he was born in of the family home.

After high school, Ted joined the Utah Army National Guard, serving as a Sargent in charge of the motor pool.

Ted started working with his father at a young age at the family business, Carpenter Seed Co. and eventually became the owner of the business.  Ted worked with his son, Ryan until he finally retired in 2015.

Ted enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, hunting, and fishing.  He also enjoyed cutting firewood with family and friends.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, 2 sons: Ryan M. (Shellie) Taylor of Provo and Scott W. Taylor of Big Fork, MT; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Gordon Taylor; and 2 sisters: Barbara Jane Taylor and Gloria Mae Trotter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State Street in Orem.  There will be a viewing held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary and on Friday from 10 to 11 prior to the services.   Condolences may be sent at www.sundbergolpinmortuary.com
