Listen to Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Spencer Ryan Kendall, who passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 33. Spencer was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, warmth, and genuine love for others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Spencer was born on October 6, 1992, in Des Moines, Iowa, to David and Paige Kendall. He was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, which became his home and fueled his lifelong love of baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals. His love for playing sports extended also to football, basketball, and wrestling. He graduated from Eureka High School in 2011. Shortly thereafter, he served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Albania Tirana Mission from 2011 to 2013. He later attended BYU–Idaho, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2018.

Of all the roles Spencer held throughout his life, being a father was the one he treasured most. His two beautiful daughters, Gracie and Brooklynn, were the center of his world and his greatest joy. He loved them with his whole heart and found his deepest happiness and purpose in life in being their dad.

Everyone who knew Spencer was drawn to his sincere and genuine nature. He had the ability to brighten any room with his contagious smile, joyful laugh, and goofy dance moves. Spencer was always looking for ways to serve others, finding purpose in lifting people up and putting their needs before his own. If someone expressed a need or even a simple wish, Spencer would quietly find a way to help make it happen. He exemplified kindness in all he did with his Christ-like love.

His selfless love made family and friends feel seen, valued, and cared for. Spencer accepted people as they were, offering kindness and friendship without judgment. His playful sense of humor, gentle spirit, and innocent teasing brought laughter and comfort to those around him, making him someone people naturally gravitated toward. It has truly been an honor to love and be loved by him.

Spencer is survived by his children, (Gracie Anne Kendall, Brooklynn Paige Kendall); his parents, (David Kay Kendall, Paige Kendall); his siblings, (Quinn David Kendall, Erica Alyse Shemwell, Alexis Paige Isaac); and his grandparents (Richard Kay Kendall, Alton Eugene Sigman). He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Jean Alyse Sigman, Barbara Kendall), his brother in law (Daryl Anthony Means); and his nephew (Caleb Anthony Means Shemwell).
