Rodney Docerus Campbell

On April 10, 2024, Rodney Docerus Campbell, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family in Provo, Utah, at the age of 75.

Rod was born on June 23, 1948, to Hattie Lucille Crouse and David Clyde Campbell, in Vernal, Utah, the seventh of seven children. Rod graduated from Vernal High School in 1966. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1972. He married the love of his life, Janet Updike, on November 22, 1975, in the Manti Temple. They raised their family in Provo, Utah, where they were blessed with 7 children. Rod always made his family a priority. He was active in his faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of his life. As a young man he served a mission for the Church in Vienna, Austria. As a retiree, he and his wife served a mission in Anchorage, Alaska. He loved music and wood carving. He worked for Utah County for 35 years in the Recorder's office.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet, and his seven children: Jacob (Colette) Campbell, Jesse (Annette) Campbell, Andrew (Heidi) Campbell, Mark (Ashley) Campbell, Lisa (Breck) Erickson, Carilynne Campbell, and Sharon Campbell, as well as 18 beloved grandchildren. He left a legacy of love of the gospel and the Savior.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 15th, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the LDS Chapel located at 102 North 2400 West, in Provo, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am before the funeral.
