Penny Lynn Hardy, 72, of Orem, UT passed away Wednesday, Oct 26, 2021. She was born April 29, 1949, in Orange County California, to Ohmer Viggo Clawson and Venlora Taylor Clawson. She married Roger Lloyd Fletcher on June 23rd 1967, at an LDS Chapel in Newport Beach CA, and later sealed in the Salt Lake city UT temple on August 13th 1968. They later divorced. She married the love of her life, Marvin Lee Hardy, on October 28, 1983, in Elko, NV. They were sealed in the Seattle LDS Temple on April 29, 1992, who preceded her in death March of this year.
Penny was loved by all who know her, she was a very caring and giving soul. Early on in her life she was heavily involved in Brownies, and in girl scouts under the direction of her mother, and they earned many badges and awards, she was also a Sailorette for the football team at Newport Harbor High school and was the manager of the student store at high school. Later in her life she became part owner of a small business when she married Marvin and was a big part of why that business was as successful as it was.
Penny is survived by, UT, and nine of her twelve children as follows: Christina Hardy Black of Tooele, UT; Kathy Hardy Brown of Tooele, UT; Bryant Hardy of Magna, UT; Troy Fletcher of Mount Pleasant, SC; Karin Hardy Stevens of Port Hueneme, CA; Lyle Hardy of Halladay, UT; Tamara Fletcher Barnett of Santaquin, UT; Jonathan Hardy of Lake Havasu, AZ; and Dustin Fletcher of Orem, UT. She is survived by 38 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by 1 of her 2 Siblings, Shirley Clawson Irwin of Sandy UT. She is preceded in death by 3 of her children, Dawna Hardy; Kevin Hardy; Lesli Hardy Mickey; and 1 of her siblings, Laura Clawson Leach.
Funeral services will be October 28th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin & Wheeler Mortuary, 465 S State Street, Orem, UT. There will be a viewing for friends and family prior to the funeral services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. There will be a Graveside service at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 S. State St., Provo, UT following the funeral at 1:00 p.m.
