Patty Brink Huillet

Patty Brink Huillet lovingly “graduated” from this earthly life and joyfully reunited with her waiting family and friends in heaven on January 10, 2026, in Provo, Utah. She was 93 years old and lived a full, happy, and faithful life.

Patty was a deeply beloved mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence will be dearly missed until we meet again. She was born on May 23, 1932, in Spokane, Washington, to Jennie Marguerite Lendstrum and Thomas Harry Wilson. Raised primarily by her devoted single mother, Patty grew up with one much older, but beloved, half-brother, George Moyer, which fostered in her a lifelong desire for a large and loving family.

On June 16, 1950, Patty married Everett Henry Brink in Seattle, Washington. They were sealed for eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on October 27, 1950. Everett preceded her in death on April 21, 1990. Patty later married F. Dale Huillet on April 30, 1994, who also preceded her in death in 2013.

Patty lived a life filled with faith, service, and purpose. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served tirelessly throughout her life. Her many callings included decades as a temple worker, Relief Society President, Young Women President, counselor in multiple auxiliaries, and a devoted ministering sister. She also served two missions in Washington, alongside her husbands. Patty loved the temple deeply, and serving the Lord brought her tremendous joy and fulfillment.

Her spirit of service extended far beyond church walls. Patty was always seeking ways to lift others, offering kindness, friendship, and help wherever she could. Thoughtful, diligent, and generous with her time and resources, she was a treasured friend to many. Patty valued hard work and independence. Patty was also very interested in politics and political service. She loved the medical field and worked in doctors’ offices for many years, retiring from a position she adored as a dental assistant for Dr. James Magelson.

Patty’s greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of seven children—each lovingly named with the letter “D”: Diana, Duane, David, Dawna, Dale, Daniel, and Denita. She also welcomed a foster daughter, Denise Bell, into her heart and home. Patty was an exceptional mother and grandmother, marked by resilience, dedication, sacrifice, and deep love for her family.

She cherished time spent outdoors with her loved ones, enjoying camping, hiking, and traveling. She often said she learned more from traveling than from anything else. Patty was an avid reader and lifelong learner. She had a well-known sweet tooth—especially for chocolate, ice cream, and baked goods—and was rarely seen without her jewelry and lipstick. She loved reality television, BYU sports, and perhaps for that reason, blue was her favorite color. Patty had a wonderful sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to pose for the camera, right up to the end.

Patty is survived by her children, Dawna (Lyle) Moody, Dale (Jennifer) Brink, Daniel (Rebecca) Brink, and Denita (Kurt) Mortensen. She was preceded in death by her brother George Moyer, her husband Everett Brink, and husband F. Dale Huillet, children Diana (Stan) Waters, Duane Brink, David (Kathy) Brink, and Susan (Dale) Brink, as well as grandchildren Marc Moody, Cosette Horn, Zachary Brink, and Noah Brink.

She also loved her stepchildren: Steve (Patricia) Huillet, Lisa (Joe, deceased) Krupla, Brad (Sarah, deceased) Huillet, Nancy (Brian) Shaw, Holly Huillet, Mark Keyes, James (Kris) Keyes, Rebecca (Larin) Crossley, and Adam (Karin) Huillet.

Patty delighted in being “Grandma” to an extraordinary family of 59 grandchildren, 102 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren—171 descendants in all. She truly fulfilled her lifelong wish of having a big family.

We are forever grateful for the privilege of calling Patty our mother and grandmother. Through her example, she taught us how to live joyfully despite hardship—to work hard, cherish family, pray always, love God, serve others, and find happiness. We will miss her sparkling blue eyes, her honesty spoken in love, and her reminder that sometimes a grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of chocolate milk are exactly what the heart needs.

We rejoice for her as she moves on to her next great adventure, confident that she is already busy serving and surrounded by family and friends. We look forward with hope to the day we will hug her again.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler-Sundberg Funeral Home, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah. The service will be live-streamed through their website. An additional service will be held in Washington at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 24th, at Purdy & Kerr Funeral Home, 409 West Main Street, Monroe, Washington. She will be buried at the Monroe, Washington IOOF Cemetery next to her husband Everett.
