Patsy Freek

d. May 8, 2014

Patsy Ann Freek, 1953-2014 Patsy Ann Freek, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah after a fervent battle with the complications of diabetes. She will be buried in Pleasant Grove, Utah Cemetery after a short, casual memorial service on Friday, May 16th, at 11 a.m. at the Grandview 1st Ward Chapel, 1555 North 1350 West, Provo. Patsy graduated from Roswell High School in 1972 after which she immediate went to work for Levi Strauss & Co.. In 1998, after completing 26 years of service with Levi's, Patsy moved to Provo to help care for her mother in her declining health. In 1999 she started her 8 years of service with Beehive Clothing. Patsy was born in Carlsbad, Eddy, New Mexico on 28 February 1953 to Roy Henry Freek Jr. and Mary Alta Berry. She was the third of 10 children born to this family. Family members who preceded her in death were her parents: Roy Henry Freek, Jr. (1971) and Mary Alta Berry Freek (1999); siblings: Vicki Freek (2012) and Roy Henry Matthews (2010). Surviving family members include: Terry Freek (Orem, UT), Arthur Freek (Belen, NM), Rose Mary Fitts, Betty Freek, and Peggy Freek (Provo, UT), David Freek (Salt Lake City, UT). Patsy loved being a homemaker. She helped to raise her younger siblings, a niece and nephew, and a grandniece and grandnephews, being the favorite sister and aunt for many. She also enjoyed her experience of being a nanny to several children in Roswell. She loved sewing clothing and helping with craft projects. She loved embroidery and crocheting. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows. Her sisters feel they have had their last fantastic meal! While taking home economics in high school, Patsy won the Roswell High School cook-off with her applesauce cake. None lived a life of service more than Patsy. She has been an example throughout her life as a woman of faith who lived a Christ-like life of serving others. She endured to the end in a manner that pleased her Heavenly Father. We love her and will miss her sweet, tenderly kind spirit. We thank the medical staff for their kind and tender care of our Patsy these last few months at the DaVita Dialysis Center, Utah Valley Specialty Hospital, and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
