Neal Ladd Adams (81) passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family after battling a long illness on Sunday June 8th 2025. Neal was born June 21st 1943 to John Adams and Harriet Young Adams in Provo Utah.
Neal was raised in Orem and was the youngest of (4) children. At a young age he began to develop his gift of music and was often asked to play his guitar and sing at a variety of events and funerals for family, friends and acquaintances.
He attended schools in Orem and graduated from Orem High School and later attended Utah Technical College and Brigham Young University. Neal served his country in the Utah Army National Guard. He loved his God, Country and Family.
Neal was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings throughout his life. He was sealed to Carol Erickson, his eternal companion on February 14th, 1969 in the Manti Temple, together they had (4) children. He worked hard at everything he did and went to work for Geneva Steel where he worked in the Locomotive Shop as a Journeyman Electrician repairing and maintaining the locomotives used by the plant for the majority of his career.
Additionally, he served on the board of the Geneva Recreation Association and also as a Union officer. Neal also worked for Ballard Medical where he retired in 2008.
Neal loved to hunt, fish, and enjoyed all things mechanical/electrical or locomotive. He participated in all kinds of sports. He served as a coach for Utah youth soccer and as a soccer official for many years all the way up to the collegiate level, officiating many BYU games.
Neal always looked for opportunities to serve and took every chance he got to lift up or help family, neighbors, friends and strangers. He knew the importance of service and was always there to help those in need and often anonymously.
Neal is survived by his wife Carol, his (4) children, Greg, (Melissa); Michelle, Robert, (Amy); Michael, (Rachel); (12) grandchildren and (5) great-grandchildren, his sister JoAnn Zabriskie and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14th at 11am at the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary in Orem. A viewing will preceed the funeral from 9:30am to 10:30am. Internment will be held at the Orem City Cemetery following the funeral.
