Michael Rodney Ford

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Rodney Ford, our beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, friend, and "our Dude," on November 1st, 2023. Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Mike was born on March 15, 1944, in Provo, Utah, to Donna and Rodney Ford. He was known for his friendly and outgoing nature. If you knew Mike, he was your friend for life. Mike was a dedicated husband to his wife, Cathy, and a loving father to Darren, Shane, Tyler, Wade, Nikki, and Jason. He cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather and was a pillar of strength and support for everyone in his family.

Mike had a deep passion for camping and hunting, often sharing these adventures with his beloved family and closest friends, Mont and Aleece Pierce. He was also a dedicated fisherman, embarking on numerous memorable fishing expeditions to Manila alongside his sons, his brother Brent, and his cherished friend Joe Kment. Summers were spent in the great outdoors, fishing for Kokanee at Flaming Gorge, and creating lasting memories with family and friends at Strawberry.

Mike Ford's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, joy, laughter, and a lifetime of brightening the lives of those around him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mike's memory lives on through his devoted wife, Cathy, and their children: Darren Ford, Shane (Melissa) Ford, Nikki (Ray) Farnsworth, and Jason Benson. He is also fondly remembered by his 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mike is survived by his brother, Dave (Jill) Hansen, and sister, Julie (Kevin) Johnson.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his two sons, Tyler and Wade Ford, and his brother, Brent Ford.

In remembrance of Mike, we will be holding a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
