Margaret Ann Buxton

Margaret Ann "Annie" Peterson Buxton, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She reunited with her beloved husband, Lamar, just days before what would have been their 57th wedding anniversary, and less than six months after his passing.

Margaret Ann was born on November 25, 1943, in Tremonton, Utah, to Elmer and Margaret Peterson. She was the middle child among seven sisters. Her early years were spent in Tremonton before moving to Jerome, Idaho, and eventually returning to Tremonton, where she resided for most of her life. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1961 and earned an associate degree from Utah State University.

On June 16, 1967, Margaret Ann married her sweetheart and eternal companion, Lamar Buxton, in the Logan Utah Temple. Together, they raised seven children. Margaret Ann’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family. She chose to remain a devoted housewife and homemaker, despite brief stints in the workforce.

A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Margaret Ann's heart was always with her family. She adored babies and cherished holding them. She enjoyed sewing, creating many of her children's clothes when they were young. Her love for handiwork extended to embroidery and crocheting, crafting quilts and blankets for her children and grandchildren.

Margaret Ann was inseparable from her husband Lamar, whom she loved and supported until his passing in January 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by her sisters, Joan, Lavisa, Bonnie, Billie Kay, Julie, and Delma; her seven children: Blair (Christie), Tiffany Rhodes (Mark), Delmar (Marcee), JaNeal Pollock (Dave), Blake, Danielle, and Ryan; nineteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for immediate family will be held on July 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, located at 495 South State Street, Orem, UT 84058.
