MaNon Jensen Watson, 96, of Orem, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025. She was born December 14, 1928, in Emery, Utah, to Hans Bjornholt and Olive Luella Maxfield Jensen. She married Kenneth Thomas Watson on August 31, 1946. They were married for 75 years before he passed in 2022.
MaNon grew up in Emery, Utah, and had a great love for her family and hometown. Becoming an aunt at a young age, MaNon had a very special relationship with her nieces and nephews that would last a lifetime. She attended school in Emery through 8th grade and then attended South Emery High School. MaNon worked at BYU Print Services and retired as a customer consultant in 1991 after 25 years of service. As a gifted hostess, she had the ability to make everyone feel at ease. She was a skilled seamstress, an avid quilter, and created beautiful handwork. Her many quilts and crocheted afghans marked the milestones in the lives of those she loved. Playing card games and dominoes with family, friends, and her twenty grandchildren brought her great joy.
She loved nature, especially flowers, and always had a large garden. Fish Lake was a favorite camping destination where she spent many happy summers of her youth, and passed that love onto her family. Spending time on “the mountain” first as a child with her father at his sawmill and years later with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gave her the opportunity to share stories of her formative years. With her beloved Kenneth, MaNon traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada, often with their trailer in tow. She was active in the LDS Church and served in various ward and stake callings. After retirement, she spent many years extracting names for temple ordinance work. Her attention to detail in all things served her well in this calling.
MaNon is survived by her four children: Kerry (Tafta) Watson of Fillmore, Utah, Kim (Jane) Watson of Orem, Utah, Brad (Kristie) Watson of Orem, Utah, and Kristine (Ramon) Castillo of Kaysville, Utah. She is loved by 19 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the Timpanogos Park 3rd Ward Chapel located at 1000 North Main Street, Orem, Utah. A viewing for friends and family will be held prior to the services from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
Condolences for the family may be left on this page.
