Lynnette Richards Richins joined her parents, William Franklin Richards and Eva Magdalene Shreeve, on August 9, 1936, in Ogden, Utah. Lynnette grew up in Ogden, Utah, and Redding, California, with siblings Jurai Richards Davis (John), Stephen Shreeve Richards (Grace), and David Franklin Richards—all deceased.
After high school, Lynnette earned a BS in Home Economics and Journalism from Utah State University. With this degree, she found a job working in extension services in Craig, Colorado. During this time, she married Donald Toone Richins on Dec 29, 1958, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 28, 2012.
Together they made their home in Ogden, Utah, bearing and rearing 3 children: Craig Richards Richins (Nicole), Michelle Richins McKnight (William), and Doneen Richins Menon (Madhu). In 1974, the family moved to Orem, Utah, where they lived until 2022.
Lynnette worked for Sears until her retirement in 1994. Don and Lynnette travelled many miles in the western United States, enjoying their time together.
Lynnette avidly read any book put in her hands. She loved mysteries, learning about Native Americans, and National Geographic. Her grandchildren fondly remember lap-time stories with her. Her cheerful smile and laughter warmed those who knew her. Lynnette also enjoyed hiking, camping, spending time with family, sewing, and crocheting.
Lynnette left this life on July 20, 2024, in American Fork, Utah, surrounded by her loving husband and family. She is survived by her husband, her children, 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren (6 step).
