Lynn Powell

Lindon, Utah

Lynn Eugene Powell, age 88 of Lindon, Utah, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 23, 2022, at the Spring Gardens assisted living center.  Preceded in death by his Eternal Companion Jeanette Marie Powell, his parents, Eugene Snider and Barbra Jensen Powell, brothers, Don and Sidney a sister Louise and a baby brother Joseph.

Lovingly remembered by his brother Clyde Powell (Betty) of Nephi, 3 Children, Richard Powell (Shawna) of Lindon, Utah, Julia Powell of Provo, Utah, Kirsten South (Greg) of Olympia Washington, 11 Grandkids, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Lynn Eugene Powell was born in Levan, Utah on December 20, 1933 to Eugene S. and Barbra Elna Jenson Powell, growing up on the ranch on Powell Lane just South of Levan.

He married his Eternal companion Jeanette Marie Millet from Orem, Utah, on Nov 4, 1966 in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple for Time and all Eternity.

Lynn graduated from Juab High School and the Juab LDS Seminary he attended school at Utah State University and graduated from Utah Technical College Utah, he also served with the Army’s 6th Armored Calvary Division as a tank Mechanic.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served as an LDS Missionary to the Bavarian Mission and later served a mission to the Berne Switzerland Temple with his Eternal Companion.  Lynn also served in many positions within the church throughout his life including 70s group leader Elders and High Priest presidency and ward mission leader. As longtime residents of Nephi, Utah, for 40+ years, Lynn was employed by Jenkins Sales and Service as a mechanic and later as the Owner of the Silver Maple service gas station and later retired from Martin Marietta Company.  He enjoyed farming, gardening and beekeeping, he took pride in working hard his whole life.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Lindon 2nd Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel Located at 610 West 100 South in Lindon Utah.  A viewing for friends and family will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street in Orem Utah and on Tuesday morning at the church just prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery at 610 South State Street.
