Lowana Lee

May 25, 1927 — November 14, 2021

LoWana Egan Lee, of Provo, passed away Sunday, November 14th, 2021. She was born May 25, 1927 in Provo, UT to Howard and Vera Egan. LoWana was the 3rd of 4 children in the Egan family. Her siblings Joyce, Ralph (Bud), and Maurine all proceeded her in death.

LoWana married Floyd Olen Conner on February 7, 1945 They were later divorced. She married Sterling Calvin Lee on December 10, 1952. LoWana and Sterling divorced in 1970. Floyd and Sterling both proceeded LoWana in death.

LoWana lived a life of service. For many years she worked as a volunteer at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center as a Pink Lady. She was awarded several times for her hours spent volunteering at the hospital. She was always making things for others; blankets for the veterans nursing home, handmade teddy bears for children in traumatic situations, infant beanies and more. She always had several projects she was working on, and they were always items that would be donated to those in need.

She was known for her incredible skills in the art of crochet. She has made countless afghans and baby blankets. Each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren have received a blanket made by her with much love. Even in her last days on earth she was very concerned that a great grandchild that was expected within a few days had received his blanket.

LoWana was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her family is grateful for the knowledge that she was welcomed home by those who have gone before her. She was proud of her Irish heritage and spoke often about it. She loved her birthplace. She often spoke about Provo being "home" and she could never live anywhere that she couldn't view the Y on the mountain out her window. As a child, she spent a lot of time with her grandparents who lived just a few blocks from where she resided at the time of her passing.

She loved animals and always had a pet dog or cat at her side. Her beloved cat, Molly proceeded her in death by just a few weeks. She often donated to charitable organizations in the benefit of helping animals and wildlife.

LoWana was fiercely loyal to her family and those she loved. She was the mother of 5 children, all of whom she loved dearly. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She has spent hours rocking a newborn, living her belief that "it is impossible to spoil a baby". She was quiet and kind and giving and she will be missed.

LoWana is survived by 4 children Carma (Elwin) Beaumont, Sandra (Raymond) Grace, Edwin (Janice) Lee, Linda Pemberton. Her eldest son, Daniel Olen Conner, proceeded her in death. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and even a few great great grandchildren.
