Linda Rodier

December 31, 1953 — September 22, 2018

After a four-year battle with metastatic breast cancer, Linda Rae Dart Rodier was passed from the hands of her loved ones at home to the arms of her loved ones in heaven on September 22, 2018.

Linda was born in Spanish Fork, Utah, in 1953 to Frank and Arlene Adams Dart. She and her 7 siblings shared a joyous and cherished childhood. Mom attended Orem High School where she was the President of the Tigerettes Drill Team and a member of the marching band.  After serving an LDS mission to Bolivia, she attended BYU where she met and married Hugo Rodier. They had three children, Yvette, Danielle, and Brandon. When Hugo and Linda divorced, she put herself though college and achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, earning her Master’s Degree from The University of Utah. She shared these skills in her work for the Granite School District and A-Plus Home Health and Hospice. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999; and after aggressive treatments, she was cancer free for the next 14 years, until it returned in September 2014.

She was always there for those she loved.  She never left her children’s side in times of crisis (and we gave her plenty of those times).  As our ever-present cheerleader and leading advocate, we tackled mountains. She spent her later years happily caring for her mother and her aunt. In her life of service, she reminded us of the importance of supporting one another while being well accessorized. She loved to dance; she was the belle of the ball. She had a great love for the outdoors and wildlife. She began checking off her bucket list with recumbent biking and going on an African Safari. On safari, she was the first person up, ready to see (and count) as many animals as possible.  The following four years, Mom had adventures all over the world (13 new countries!). We are forever blessed for her time and her stable health to make that possible.

She is preceded to heaven by her parents; her aunt, Gweneth Adams; her sisters, Florence Dart Smith and Claudia Dart Naranjo; her brothers, Dick Frank Dart and Dennis Blaine Dart; and her son, Brandon Rodier. She is survived by her daughters, Yvette Rodier Whitby (David); Danielle Rodier; her granddaughter, Romney Rae Evans; and her sisters, Sharon Dart Muir, Toni Dart Sullivan (Don) and Sue Dart Brereton.

Services will be held at Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, located at 495 South State Street, Orem, on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 am. There will be two viewings held at the mortuary.  The first will be held on Thursday, September 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and the second will be on Friday before the service from 9:45 to 10:45. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.

As family, we are grateful for her doctors: Greggory Litton and Jane MacPhereson for their long-term compassionate care. We are thankful for her caregivers: Becky, Linda, Pai and all of  the countless others who have shown their love and support over the years.

In lieu of flowers, please hold your arms up and squeal on your next roller coaster ride, leave a hospitality fold in the toilet paper for the next person, or donate to Wasatch Adaptive Sports or The Cancer Wellness House. Mom took care of this world, leaving it a better place than she found it.  May we all be blessed to do the same.  TAWANDA!  KMLIYP!
