Linda Esther Anderson Mogle March 21st 1943 – January 23rd 2026
Linda Mogle finally held still enough for her spirit to shake free of her aching body and return to heaven. Her spirit quietly snuck out of the house that she called home for over 50 years on a crisp winter afternoon, January 23, 2026,
Linda was born on March 21st, 1943, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to Edgar Ray and Esther Doreen Moore. She was born with curly blonde hair that eventually grew out brunette and, in her words, “Stick straight”.
She grew up in Ephraim, Utah, with her two brothers, Larry and David. Linda had the attributes of a great marble player as a child. These same attributes were seen in her needlework, knitting, and crocheting. Linda was an accomplished seamstress. We often heard her well into the night sewing new school clothes, Halloween costumes, Christmas pajamas, prom dresses, and also clothing for the people who would hire her to sew for them. Not just clothes, but band uniforms, drill team uniforms, curtains, and stuffed toys. If you received something from the hands of Linda, you knew it was quality.
As a Manti Templar, she was very involved in school. She was a Templarette, played the cello, swam on the swim and dive team, and attended Girls State. High school seminary is where she met the love of her life, Phil Mogle. The seven-mile road between Manti and Ephraim was never short enough.
If you ask Phil, “When did you ask Linda to marry you?” he would answer, ‘I asked her all the time. Every time I saw her.” And if you asked Linda what her answer was, she would reply, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” Linda married Phil on July 27, 1961, and they were later sealed in the Manti Temple for time and all eternity, which wouldn’t ever be long enough. They added three girls and a boy to their journey. Always finding joy in marriage and parenthood.
Linda was a full-time mother and usually the only mom on the block who had a vocation outside the home. She excelled at shorthand and keyboard, and she was a valued employee. At one time, the PTA secretary at the local school keeping her involved in the community and in her kids' education. Her work ethic was gold standard.
Linda played as hard as she worked. Dancing brought her joy. She looked forward to the nights she would go square dancing with Phil. Of course, she sewed herself a ruffled dress. When she grew up, she wanted to be a ballet dancer. You could find her up on the slopes skiing on a Saturday. She is a creative soul and was always up for a new craft. Linda loved playing the piano, traveling, swimming in the waters of Hawaii with her family, baking, canning, black licorice, everything sweet, especially caramel popcorn on Sunday afternoon. She enjoyed movies and going to the midnight showings with her granddaughters, getting a large popcorn and a Diet Coke. She couldn’t say no to a jump in the pool with her grandsons. She had a soft place in her heart for all animals and took several stray cats in the neighborhood to get spayed or neutered. She would say yes to turtles and no to snakes. Fish Lake was a favorite destination, soaking up the aspen, the stillness, and the beauty of the mountains.
Her never-ending energy and work ethic helped her in her many callings and as a leader in Young Women, Relief Society, and Primary. Her good heart and testimony blessed those she served.
At this time, we would like to give a special thank you to the dedicated and caring services of Utah Home Health Hospice, in the hands of Julie, McCall, Grace, Ryann, and Bianca, our mom was lovingly cared for. She always shared her light with them.
Linda leaves behind a loving family including her sweetheart of 65 years, Phil Mogle; her children: Leslie (Greg) Benson, Amanda (S. Jeffery) Jones, James (Jennifer Hull) Mogle, Keri (Devin) Jessee, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and her sister in law, Connie Anderson (Larry) She will be reunited with her parents, younger brothers and one great granddaughter (Elizabeth) who are all waiting for her on the other side. They are the lucky ones now.
