Lawrence Fielden Jordan, Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at his home in Orem, UT.
He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on February 6, 1943, the son of Lawrence Fielden Jordan Sr. and Rozella Cromar Jordan.
He served an LDS mission in the Southwest British Mission, London, England and afterward, married his sweetheart, Miriam Ivie, in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 29, 1965. He passed away one month short of his 59th wedding anniversary to her. His favorite calling in the church was the Ward Clerk. He served in that calling for 17 years.
Larry served in the Navy for six years, four years Active Duty and two years on Reserve. He served in the Vietnam War where he worked in communications. In the Navy, he was stationed in California and Japan. While in California, Larry and Miriam adopted their son, John, when he was thirteen months old. Later, the family moved to Illinois where they adopted their daughter, Jennifer, when she was two weeks old.
Larry loved computers and worked as a Field Service Engineer, repairing them. During his life, he enjoyed coin collecting, stamp collecting and was very busy doing his ancestry and genealogy.
Larry is survived by his wife, Miriam, two children, John Jordan and Jennifer Ehlers, three grandchildren, Rolland Jordan, Taliah Ehlers and Tristan Ehlers and on sister, Wendy Hatch. He was preceded in death by his parents, his baby brother, Jon Michael, and his grandson, Rian Jordan.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Timpanogos Park LDS 4th Ward building, 955 North 300 East, Orem, UT, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow with full Military Honors at the Orem City Cemetery.
