Kristi Ann Belliston (KAB) was born October 25th, 1961 in Safford Arizona. She passed away September 9th, 2026 in Orem, Utah from an acute illness.
She grew up and attended school in Duncan, Arizona, where she developed a wide range of interests, including sports. In high school she played both tennis and volleyball. Kristi was a standout multi-sport athlete, winning a state doubles championship in tennis and contributing to a state championship volleyball team. She earned all-state honors twice and was named State MVP during her senior year. Beyond athletics, Kristi also demonstrated leadership through her involvement in student government as a student body officer.
She married Brady Belliston on July 15th, 1983. They had one daughter, Brenann. Kristi is survived by her husband Brady, their daughter Brenann (Chris) Tyson, the grands Briley and Brady, and her sister Jeanne (Dan) Cybulski. She is preceded in death by her parents Derrell and Jacque Elmer, and her brother Santry Elmer.
She is best known for her career as a teacher. She taught for 30 years at American Fork High School before retiring (the first time). She continued to teach at NUAMES in Layton, Utah running their internship program. Her career began through her interests, but her impact was through her qualities as a person. Through her kindness, sincerity, and genuine concern for her students, she built lasting relationships that continue to this day.
Anyone who knows Kristi knows her love of sewing. This started as a child, designing and making clothes for her dolls and Barbies. It continued through her career teaching sewing, and especially in retirement. She started a company creating patterns and she always had a project - or seven - going on! Her creativity extended to throwing parties that are still talked about, and more recently celebrating anything and everything with her grandkids. She loved travel, especially if it was somewhere warm and beachy! She loved finding new places to learn about and explore and was always up for an adventure.
The grands were her favorite people. She attended every event, encouraged every interest, and celebrated everyday life with them. She was… gramma. =)
