Karen Lee Andelin

Karen Andelin, 79, of Orem, Utah passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025. She was born July 4, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to George Joseph Levine and Jetta Sylvia Markowitz. She moved from New York to Santa Monica, California in 1959. She married Lars Linwood Andelin on February 3, 1967 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2003.

Karen enjoyed going on rides, eating out, painting, sewing, and baking, and most importantly her family. She joined the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints because of the promise of eternal families. Karen graduated in 1984 from Cal State University Fullerton with a degree in Psychology, and then went on to get her teaching credential in Special Ed. She worked in Education for 17 years. Karen was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend, and cared deeply for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several capacities, including in Primary, in Relief Society, she wrote Roadshows, and happily served in music as an organist, pianist, choir director, and so much more. Her testimony is reflected in the lives of her children.

Karen is survived by her three children: Laurel (Roine) Martinson of Orem, Utah; Kyle (Rebecca) Andelin of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Liesl (Ian) Neubert of Ooltewah, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; and her dog Ziva.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located at 1051 East 200 N in Orem, Utah. A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Wheeler & Sundberg Funeral Homes located at 495 S State St in Orem. There will also be a viewing Saturday just prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Burial will be in the Murray City Cemetery following the service. Flowers and memories can be sent to the mortuary.
