Judith “Judie” Wilson Sherwood-Bachelder

April 9, 1942 – August 2, 2023

Judie was born April 9th, 1942 to her loving parents, Howard Grigg Wilson and Ardell Humphries. Judie was welcomed into her family by her loving older sister of three years, Shirlynn Wilson Campbell. These two sisters were the best of friends all their lives.

Judie married Arlan Robert Greening, on October 6, 1961.  Judie’s heart was always broken that she couldn’t physically bear children. It was a sorrow she had her entire life. During her marriage to Arlan, Judie’s life was filled with joy and abundance upon being blessed with three wonderful children: Stephen, Shauna (deceased), and Tony. Arlan and Judie were later divorced.

Judie married Howard D. Sherwood, of American Fork, Utah on June 11, 1988; This union brought Judie seven additional children: Steven (Edna) Sherwood, Dan Sherwood, Deborah Sherwood, LeAnn (Steve) Gourley, Janet (Brett, deceased) Blanco, Robert (Laura) Sherwood. Judie also maintained a close relationship with a former daughter-in-law, Catherine Sherwood, previously married to Dan.

Judie was skilled at making lifelong friends and lived a life full of service.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She had a strong testimony of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She enjoyed many callings in her church.  The calling that she thoroughly loved was serving as the Relief Society President in her ward.  This calling allowed her to do what she naturally loved: serving others.  Even after she was released from this calling, she continued this service.

Judie and Howard served a service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This mission was to assist in financial audits of church properties throughout the United States. Judie loved traveling and would bring back many delightful stories of their experiences.

Howard became ill and Judie took devoted care of him through his decline. She never left his side. She and Howard moved to Jamestown Assisted Living in Provo so that Howard could receive the detailed care he required. Judie went with him and found joy in all the small things.

After Howard’s death, Judie became friends with and married Daniel Fred Bachelder on May 6, 2015. Judie and Dan’s companionship was one of great fun and joy. Together, Judie and Dan served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were assigned to Jamestown Assisted Living.  She loved this mission and would work with individual residents, assisting them with recording their life histories.

After the passing of Dan in early 2021, Judie was able to live at home while being lovingly cared for by her step-grandchildren Drew and Paola Blake. When Judie needed more detailed care, she moved to Ashford Assisted Living & Memory Care in Springville. Many employees came to love her for the sweet and caring person she was. We are extremely grateful for the care she received while there.

Along with her children, Judie is survived by 41 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
