Joyce Ann Notarianni

July 18, 1931 — March 27, 2024

Mapleton

Joyce Ann Todd Notarianni passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at the age of 92 surrounded by members of her family.

Joyce was born on July 18, 1931, to Walter Henry and Elizabeth Harriet Baker Todd in Ogden Utah. She was the fourth and last child of this union, which consisted of one brother and two sisters, all of whom have preceded her in death.

Joyce graduated from Ogden High School in 1949 and would later graduate with her teaching certificate from the Utah Agricultural College in Logan Utah, now Utah State University, in 1953. Joyce was a P.E. teacher during her early career and eventually became a resource teacher at Provo High School; she retired from Provo School District in 1993. Joyce's enthusiasm for teaching and genuine love for her students has left a lasting impression and relationship with them over the years.

Joyce married and later divorced George R. Chournos in 1952. They had four living children and one stillborn son. Their children are: Kim Russell, deceased, wife Kathaleen Rowley; Kellie Ann Cox, husband Gordon; Kara Lee Kamerath, husband Kevin; and Kaye Notarianni. Joyce married Lou Notarianni in 1972. No children were born to this union, but Joyce inherited a stepdaughter, Carmela "Cammy" Notarianni.

Lou and Joyce enjoyed an active life together: skiing (both snow and water), boating, camping, cruising all over the world, and all types of sports - including season tickets to BYU football (which is saying something for her cute Catholic husband). Life for Joyce was full and adventurous.

Family was everything to Joyce and Lou. It was easy to see the love they shared every year at their annual Christmas Eve party as their posterity grew. Together they have 13 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and nine great, great-grandchildren (with two on the way).

Joyce will be missed by her husband Lou, their extensive family, and numerous friends; but what a wonderful reunion it must have been for those waiting for her on the other side. Another great adventure for our mother and grandmother.
