Johnny Morriss

Johnny Lamar Morriss, passed away at home on August 17th, 2022 at the age of 77. He was born on May 20th, 1945 in Boston MA to Lamar and Eileen Morriss. He married the love of his life, Pamela Lewis, on May 31st, 1967. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Johnny graduated from Granger High School, Granger, UT in 1963. Johnny was an avid hunter, fisherman, hiker, camper and swimmer. He loved teaching his boys his outdoor skills. He loved movies and collecting coins, knives and watches and rings. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was happiest when Pam was at his side. He worked in retail grocery for most of his life before retiring at age 62. He was a member of the church and worked in his ward's library for 17 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and will be missed dearly by his wife, family, and friends. We want to thank everyone for their condolences and for reaching out to us at this time of loss.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pamela Lewis Morriss, and his 3 sons: Todd Morriss of American Fork, UT, James (Melinda) Morriss of Orem, UT, Cory (Robin) Morriss of Lehi, UT, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger brother Terry Morriss of West Valley, UT, and a sister-in-law Bonnie Sorensen of Orem, UT.

Cremation will be August 31st, 2022. A private family celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
