Jean Elizabeth White Howe of Lindon, Utah, passed away on December 8, 2025. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on November 12, 1949, to Robert Nelson White and Frances May Meidlinger. She was sealed for time and all eternity to Gilbert Paul Howe on April 12, 1974, in the Salt Lake City, Utah, Temple.
True to her Midwest roots, she was an avid sports fan, especially the BYU Cougars, her alma mater. Although she missed every Hail Mary because she was too nervous to watch it live, she would catch it later when the game was re-aired. In fact, she would watch the same games over and over again; her favorites being the 1997 Cotton Bowl and the 1984 National Championship. When not watching sports, she could be found in her craft room. She was accomplished at counted cross-stitch and crochet and loved making pictures, blankets, ornaments of all kinds, and crochet plushes.
She loved Elvis Presley and the Beatles, VW Bugs and Ford Mustangs. She enjoyed her morning walks that her son took her on faithfully, family trips to Bryce Canyon, and a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Rome. She always went above and beyond. She was dedicated to every job and every church calling she ever had, especially playing for the primary.
She loved her country and had deep respect for our servicemen and women.
She is survived by her husband, Gil; son, Justin; and daughters Kira Jean Howe, Trina Frances Casper and Anna Elizabeth Southam, as well as two beloved son-in-laws, Kristepher Casper and Michael Southam; sister, Carol and brother, Ken; along with grandchildren: Aurora, Nyah, Sterling, Daniel, Anya, Shayna, Kadence, Cedar, Hunter, Haylee, and Afton. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances White, and her dear brother Robert “Bob” White.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Wheeler-Sundberg Funeral Home, 495 South State Street, Orem. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Lindon City Cemetery, 599 West 200 South, Lindon, Utah.
