Janalee Kunz

April 9, 1972 — March 5, 2018

Janalee Field Kunz passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2018. Jan was known for her amazing smile and contagious laugh. Through her courageous battle with cancer, our Wonder Woman has taught us how to be positive through adversity. Jan was born April 9, 1972, to Wayne K and Nancy Jennings Field in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Weber High School in 1990. After high school, Jan attended Ricks College where she met the love of her life Karl DeVerl Kunz from Bern, Idaho. They were married on May 1, 1992, in the Logan Utah Temple. After graduating from Idaho State University, they moved to Orem, Utah, where they worked side by side for 24-years building and running their family business. Jan and Karl are the proud parents of four amazing children. Their first grandchild was born on March 3, 2018, just two days before Jan’s passing.

Jan loved her family and enjoyed boating, going to Lake Powell, and supporting her children in all of their activities. She was her kids’ biggest fan. Even when she wasn’t feeling well, she was always there to cheer them on.

Jan was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She enjoyed many years of service with the Young Women and loved them dearly.

During her battle with cancer, Jan was a light to other patients as well as those who cared for her. She brightened every room she entered with her smile, positive attitude, and spunk. She always brought hope and encouragement to those who were lucky enough to know her.

Jan is survived by her husband Karl; their four children; Karlee (Addison) Wilson, Maycee (Cole Frost-fiancé), Landon, and Janson; grandson Marshall; her mother Nancy Jennings Field; and her bonus mom Sharon Annette Field. She was preceded in death by her father Wayne K. Field and her father-in-law Paul R. Kunz.

As a family, we are deeply grateful for the countless acts of generous service and love that have been shown to us through the years by friends, ward members, and medical personnel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 9 a.m. at the Lakeview LDS Stake Center located at 400 West 1800 South, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home located at 495 South State Street, Orem, and on Saturday just prior to the service from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at the church. Graveside services will be held at the Bern Cemetery in Bern, Idaho, at 3 p.m. the same afternoon.
