Ilene Karen Harrison returned to the loving care of her Heavenly Father and Mother on November 20, 2025. She lived a long and full life, finding joy in many of the blessings this earth has to offer.
Ilene was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed to her beloved husband, Max Harrison, in the Salt Lake Temple. Throughout her life, she faithfully served in many callings, including Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Primary Librarian, Relief Society Compassionate Service and Funeral Luncheon Coordinator, Relief Society Visiting Teacher and Ministering Sister, and Relief Society Nursery Leader.
She attended Naples Elementary in a one-room schoolhouse, followed by Uintah Junior High and Uintah High School, graduating in 1957. She later continued her education at Brigham Young University and the University of Utah.
One of Ilene’s greatest joys was serving as a 4-H leader and spending summers at 4-H camp. She had many hobbies and talents, including family history work, enjoying the outdoors, camping, picnicking, coin and pen collecting, and collecting miniatures. She was gifted at cake decorating and candy making, and she loved ballroom dancing, singing, and swimming. As a child, she excelled at roller skating and riding her bicycle hands-free. She also proudly played the lead role in her high school senior play.
Ilene had a generous and loving heart. She welcomed into her home many nephews, cousins, and ward members throughout her life. Among them, Scott, Jon, Robert, and Ryan became family to her in every way. She kept a long list of birthdays and anniversaries for family and friends and faithfully sent cards for many years. She was proud to be part of the Barnes and Alice Cook family and cherished every gathering and family history event.
Her happiest moments were always those spent with family and in the temple and church she loved.
Ilene was preceded in death by her husband, Max Harrison; her father, Bert Ernest Karren; her mother, Edris (Cook) Karren; her brothers, Jay B. Karren and Lee Ernest Karren; her sister-in-law, Charma Joyce (Glines) Karren; and her son-in-law, Kerry Hall.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sarah Averill (Westgard) Karren; her children, Anthoney Craig (Robin Sue) Harrison and Holly Annette Hall; her grandchildren, Tiffany Caruthers, Cory (Angeleena) Harrison, Allison (Austin) Preston, Heidi Jo Hall, Becky Hall, and Kelly Hall; and seven great-grandchildren.
