In Loving Memory of Guy Rawson Burningham

 November 22, 1944 - February 17, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guy Rawson Burningham, 79, of Orem, Utah. A pillar of strength, love, and wisdom, he peacefully departed this life on February 17, 2024, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on November 22, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Guy was the beloved son of Virginia Mae Rawson and B. Dale Burningham.

A man of unwavering faith, Guy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When Guy was 20, he served a full-time mission in the California South Mission, where he met Sister Pamela Milne, who eventually became his eternal companion. Later, he and Pam served two senior missions. He served in various callings, including Bishop and in the Stake Presidency. His kindness, generosity, and commitment to service were the hallmarks of his character.

Guy embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. His love for family was unparalleled. On July 21, 1967, he sealed a sacred covenant with his eternal companion, Pamela Ann Milne, in the Logan, UT temple. Together, they navigated life's journey hand in hand, creating a home filled with laughter, faith, and enduring love.

Guy's legacy is one of profound impact, particularly within the legal realm. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Utah, College of Law in 1973. His legal journey began with the firm of Gustin and Gustin in Salt Lake City, followed by the co-founding of Burningham and Taylor in 1976. In 1977, he transitioned to public service as Chief of the Civil Division with the Utah County Attorney's Office, leaving an indelible mark on the legal community. He also taught Business Law at Brigham Young University. In 1992, he was appointed by the governor of Utah as a Fourth District Court Judge. Guy's dedication and service were exemplified when he was honored as Judge of the Year in 2000 by the Utah State Bar.

Guy's vibrant spirit extended to his numerous interests, from the enchantment of Disneyland to his fascination with cars. As an avid BYU football fan, Guy shared his love of football with his children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren. A gifted piano player, his music resonated with beauty and harmony, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of listening.

Guy is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela, and their children: Bret (Melanie), Jon, Jeremy (Kalli), Amy (Jason), Sara (Mike), and Adam (Jenn). He leaves behind a legacy through his 15 grandchildren: Trevor (Siri), Taylor (Griffin), Jordan (Kalisa), Aly (Brek), McKenna (Jeremy), Kaytlin (Chris), Brody, Shane, Tyra (Kooper), Brady (Jane), Briggs, Boston, Rylie, Maks, and Linux and seven great-grandchildren: Kyler, Vaydia, Von, Baylor, Syloh, Iris, and Ace, each a testament to the enduring love and guidance he provided.
