Glenna Gilbert Grunig

Glenna Gilbert Grunig, age 92 of Orem, Utah, passed away on October 29, 2026.

Glenna was born on April 4, 1934, in Yost, Utah, a daughter of Leon & Rosetta Tracy Gilbert.

Glenna married Max Grunig on November 17, 1958, in the LDS Logan, Utah, Temple.

Glenna worked 14 years in the Alpine School District as a school cook & assistant manager. She worked mostly at Cherry Hills Elementary School. She was also a volunteer pink lady at the Utah Valley Hospital and worked there for 4 years.

Glenna was an avid Jazz fan and was active in the LDS Church and served in many different callings.

Glenna was an excellent cook & loved to cook. Her greatest specialty was making brownies & homemade bread.

She was preceded in death by her parents & brothers & sisters; Virgil Oliver, Doriel Samule, Eldon William, Wendell Dale, and Leona, and Norma. Bernard Gilbert, Della Carter, Reva Roche, Dr. Arnold Gilbert, James Grunig, Natalie Grunig, granddaughter.

She is survived by sons Kim Grunig of Orem; John Grunig of Orem, Scott (Brandie) Grunig of West Valley; eight grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

A viewing for friends and family will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Wheeler-Sundberg Funeral Home, 495 South State Street, Orem. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah.
