Glenda Kay Jorgensen

November 27, 1942 — May 6, 2024

Pleasant Grove

Glenda (The Good Witch) Kay Jorgensen, 81, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away on May 6, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. She is a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all. Glenda was born on November 27, 1942, in Ogden, Utah, to Clarence Byron Funk and Nola Pope Funk. She lost her father when she was just 2 years old, and her mother when she was 7 years old. She was raised, along with her brother, Richard Funk, by her grandparents, George Funk and Mary Abigail Funk, who had already raised 12 children of their own.

She married J Bradford (JB) Jensen in June 1961 and later divorced and then married Gordon Leavitt Olsen in April 1966 and later divorced. She married Dan Max Jorgensen on March 18, 1988, and was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on October 8, 1988. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2015.

Glenda was a very skilled seamstress and an exceptional cook. She made many blankets, quilts, and clothing items for her children when they were young. In the kitchen, she had jarred or pickled just about every vegetable and fruit out there. Her famous frog-eye salad is sure to be at every Thanksgiving.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with a strong testimony of the Savior and served in many church callings including Relief Society President and as a Senior Missionary. Glenda was a light in everyone’s life. She saw the good in people and made sure to let them know how much they meant to her. She treated everyone like family.

Glenda fought and beat breast cancer two separate times and put up an intense battle against bone-marrow cancer until the end. She was a warrior and always had a great attitude no matter what was thrown her way. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Dan and her daughter Julee. She is survived by her sons Brad Olsen (Carami), Steven Olsen (Gina), Mark Olsen, John Jorgensen (Alishia), Daniel Jorgensen (Ashlee) and her many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
