Genevieve Wilson Morris, age 88, of Orem, Utah, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on April 27, 2025.
She was born on July 9, 1936, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, to Jesse David Wilson and Lepearless Tanner Wilson. On June 24, 1959, she married the love of her life, George Henry Morris, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Genevieve had a lifelong love of learning and, as a child, read every book in her small-town library. She also had a deep love of music, singing in choirs and playing the piano both at home and for various church services and community events across denominations. She faithfully served many church callings and was known for her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one of her brothers David Lafaye Wilson (Joan).
Genevieve is survived by her beloved husband, George Morris; her son, David Morris, and daughter-in-law, Brenda, of Spanish Fork; her daughter, Beth Lamphear, and son-in-law, Bill, of Riverton. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Daniel Morris, Tiffany Shepherd (Dylan), Josie Shepherd, and Jadon Lamphear; seven great-grandchildren: Destiny, Autumn, Lucy, Mack, Beckett, Sephiroth, and Osiris; brothers J. Lavern Wilson (Shirley) of Spanish Fork, Utah and Theron Fleming Wilson (Joyce) deceased of Winnsboro, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 1700 S 400 E in Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 N 800 E, Orem. Utah.
