Gene Michael (Mike) Grosskopf of Orem, Utah entered eternal life on January 10, 2020. He was born September 3,1944, in Appleton, Wisconsin to Victor and Doris Grosskopf.
Mike joined the United States Marine Corps in 1963. He was deployed to Viet Nam as a machine gunner and then volunteered to be a door gunner on a medevac helicopter. He was wounded and received a purple heart in 1965 and left the military in 1971.
Mike had two sons, Alan and John Michael, before he married Dixie in 1987 and then added three more children to his life: Shawn, Mickey, and Shannon Buckle. He had two daughters-in-law, Karen and Novelette. He had three grandsons in his life: Robert Michael, Mark Anthony, and Nathan Michael. He had one great-grand daughter, Michelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Sonny, Randy, and Nick), two sisters (Pat and Debbie), and his son John Michael.
Mike is watching over his loving wife Dixie now, and being her guardian angel until they meet again...
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 17 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel on 50 South 800 East, Orem, Utah. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 16 at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, Prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Midway City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family on this page.
