Gary McKay Harmon

Gary McKay Harmon, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 2, 2026, at the age of 59. He was born on July 3, 1966, and spent his life surrounded by those he loved most.

Gary is survived by his father, David McKay Harmon; his son, Colton Harmon; and his three sisters, Jamielyn Hoopes, Christine Gottfredson, and Andrea Shipman. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joy Harmon, whom he cherished deeply.

Gary had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and fishing—pastimes that brought him joy, calm, and a sense of freedom. He also loved music and spent many hours teaching himself to play the guitar and drums. Even if he never became as good as he hoped to be, he always tried his best, and his determination reflected his quiet resilience and spirit.

Those who knew Gary will remember him for his sincerity, curiosity, and the authenticity with which he lived his life. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
