Elaine H. Wood, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on November 13, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 23, 1946, in Springville, Utah, Elaine lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Elaine and her eternal sweetheart, Bud, were married in the Salt Lake Temple on January 17, 1969, beginning a beautiful life together centered on faith and family. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Lewis J. ‘Bud’ Wood, and her parents, Howard and Lila Hansen. She is survived by her children: Mike (Debbie) Wood of American Fork; Mark Wood of Nephi; Nathan (Paula) Wood of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jared Wood of Pleasant Grove; Wendell (Janice) Wood of Pleasant Grove; Tamma (Glen) Pratt of Orem; and Melissa (Tyler) Bahr of Lehi; along with 34 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 more on the way. Elaine is also survived by her brothers Jerry (LeAnn) Hansen of American Fork; Glen (Connie) Hansen of American Fork; Neil (Sharon) Hansen of Alpine; and her sister Marné (Ron) Brinkerhoff of Benjamin.

Her true joy was spending time with her family. She rarely missed an important event in any of their lives. She could be found on the sidelines at athletic events, in the audience for school performances, and participating in special occasions like baptisms, ordinations, and weddings. Many of her nieces and nephews experienced her motherly love firsthand, a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her always bright yellow house with matching mini library and white trim exemplified a gathering place of love, laughter, and belonging for all.

She had many talents, including crocheting, quilting, writing, sewing, and crafting. She created hundreds of hand-crafted cards for special occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and other events. These remain cherished possessions among family and friends. Elaine also had a passion for music and loved singing with the Chauntenette Women’s Chorus, where she shared her joy and talent with others.

Elaine was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in many roles throughout her life, including Den Mother, Cub Master, Primary President, Relief Society President, and most recently as a Sunday School teacher at the time of her passing. She was a gifted genealogist and served as a Service Missionary for the Church in the Geneva Heights and Riverton Family History Centers. A proud descendant of pioneer ancestors, she also volunteered as a genealogist for the Thomas Minor Society.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel on 590 North 900 West, Orem, Utah.
