Dorothy June Yeager

Dorothy June Jopling Yeager, aged 89, residing lately in Orem, Utah, passed peacefully from this life on September 15, 2025, at the Orem Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility of old age.

Dorothy was born on February 15, 1936, in Olton, Texas, to parents Ruby and Freeman Jopling and 3 older siblings: Billie, Royce, and Mary. After graduating high school in 1954, she married Dewey Webster Yeager and raised three children, all while obtaining a Teacher’s Certificate and a Master's in Education. Dorothy’s other accomplishments include: teaching herself to play the piano, working as a kindergarten teacher, singing Handel’s Messiah three times, writing prolifically as well as traveling around the world to such places as China in 1979, Machu Picchu, and even met the Pope twice.

Surviving children are Derryl Dean, Deanna Lynn, and Drue Ann, along with 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A memorial will be held in a private ceremony at a later date, where Dorothy will be laid to rest next to Dewey in Amarillo, Texas.
