David Williams

April 1, 1955 — February 27, 2019

David Warren Williams, age 63, of West Jordan, Utah passed away on February 27, 2019.  Dave was born April 1, 1955, in Seattle, WA, the third child of Gertrude Steenbock Williams and Warren Williams.

Dave served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Saskatchewan, Canada, which he thought was the coldest place on earth.  He went on to BYU to receive his Bachelor of Science, studying business and accounting.  After further study, he received his Master of Business Administration from USU.   Through initiative, hard work, and dedication, he established his own business, Williams and Associates.  As an accountant, he offered tax services and financial and estate planning.  Dave was licensed in Securities, Insurance, and as an Investment Advisor Representative. He was a member of the National Society of Accountants, a charter member of the Institute of Business, and a member of the Financial Planning Association.  His dedication and personal service to his clients was the hallmark of his business.

Dave enjoyed sports.  In his youth, he practiced basketball tirelessly as he honed his skills to play his best for his high school and church teams.  He was a devoted fan of BYU football, attending for at least 30 years.  He enjoyed playing golf and often took advantage of the St. George golf courses.  Other travels took him to sunny San Diego, where the water reminded him of his Seattle home.  One memorable adventure was when he went white-water rafting down the Colorado River.   But the adventure he loved most was doing family history.  He treasured the discovery of long-lost ancestors and relished unexpected surprises.  Through his tenacity and resources, he found hundreds of ancestors.  No doubt, he is continuing this work now.

His sister, Sheila Marie Williams, and his parents precede him in death.  He is survived by Wayne, CO, Larry (Sherrie), Gwen (Fritz) Kopeinig, Katonah, NY, Doug (Deanna) Williams, Salem, UT, Marilyn Williams, Orem, UT, and by 10 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Humanitarian Aid through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints Chapel, 6364 S. 3200 W., West Jordan, UT.  Visitation will be prior to the service at the church, from 10-10:45 a.m.  Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 N  800  E, Orem, U.
