Our beloved Father and Grandfather, David Quiroz, age 79, returned to his Heavenly Father on January 10, 2021. His family will deeply miss his kind heart, grand example of service, and enthusiasm for life. David was born on March 31, 1941, in Arequipa, Peru to Rosario and Roque Quiroz.
David grew up and studied in Arequipa, but spent a few years of his primary schooling in Bolivia. As an adult, he pursued a religious career but then decided to study accounting instead at a university in Lima, Peru. David worked many different jobs throughout his life. However, his pride was in working for the Church’s FM group for 31 years. David was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He held many callings throughout his life including Elders Quorum President, Ward Mission Leader, and Ward and Stake missionary. He blessed many lives in his dedication to sharing the gospel with others.
David was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was a jokester who enjoyed making others smile and laugh. He was a man who loved to serve others. He loved animals and spending time outdoors. He was a handyman and enjoyed spending time at the hardware store. He liked to watch movies and do puzzles. He loved food and would express his love for others by often sharing treats. His hobbies include playing soccer and swimming.
David is survived by his three daughters, Lydia (Jerry) Bryner, Karina (Jaron) Jones, and Kayla (Martin) Jensen. and 9 grandchildren: Aryn, Alyza, Jenny, Adam, Natalie, Austen, Allison, Evelyn, and Olivia. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother. We would like to express gratitude and love to all the many nurses and caregivers who tended to him during his final days for their compassionate care and assistance.
