Daniel Wakefield

March 15, 1967 — December 30, 2020

Daniel Alan Wakefield, 53, of Orem, UT was tragically taken from this world in a vehicle accident on Wednesday December 30, 2020. He was born on March 15th, 1967 in Redwood City, CA to Paul and Bonnie Wakefield.

Daniel was more affectionately known as Dan, Danny, Danno or the names he loved the most Dad, Grandpa Dan and Uncle Danny. Since birth Dan lived larger than life bringing joy, laughter, and love into the lives of every person he met along the way. Dan’s bright soul and infectious laugh uplifted those he met even if it was just in passing.

Growing up with his older sister Wendy helped him be a better brother to his younger brothers Todd, Joey, and Andy and his younger sister Amy. Being a brother taught him to have a different appreciation for life that lead him to become the man we all know and love.

While growing up in Utah, Dan grew to love for all sports and all things outdoors. Dan played every sport he could but loved football the most. Dan played for Mountain View High School until his graduation in 1985. Dan loved skiing on water or snow, riding motorcycles, hiking, and learning how to love the world he was living in. Shortly after high school Dan started a family with Rebecca Lynne Pierce of Orem where he was blessed with his first son, Aaron James Wakefield on July 11th, 1986 and three years later, on August 28th, 1989 he was blessed with his second son Brady Mitchell Wakefield.

With his new family at his side Dan begin his journey to become a Stock Broker following in his father’s footsteps. Dan set off for New York City in his final step to start his new career and fell in love with the hustle of the big city life. With his family by his side Dan left Utah and moved to Dallas, TX to work for Bear Sterns. Unfortunately, Dan and Rebecca’s marriage ended, but they both remained in Dallas raising their boys together. Dan loved Dallas and Texas as he created life long friends that he would proudly say were more family than friends. Dan lived for his sons and taught them to always help those around them, be optimistic and love what you do and do what you love. His boys then blessed him with 4 grandchildren Landon James, Xania Keely, Xariah Kenely and Xander Kenesly Wakefield who he loved more than anything.

Unfortunately, tragedy met Dan when he lost his son Aaron on January 7th, 2013 but was also greeted by his proudest moment 7 days later when his son Brady enlisted in the United States Army.

Dan’s path then brought him back to Utah where he strengthened his love for his friends and family, especially with his nieces and nephews. Uncle Danny’s love for his nieces and nephews seemed to always brighten their life, but the reality was they all brightened his life so much more.

Dan focused his time on his family and friends as he continued to live between Dallas and Orem over the years. His love for motorcycles never left and he continued to ride finding his heaven on earth with his brother Joey and so many friends along the way.

Dan is survived by his son Brady (Kara) Wakefield of Spring, TX, his parents Paul and Bonnie Wakefield, his brothers Todd (Elizabeth) Wakefield, Joey (Alisa) Wakefield, Andy Wakefield and his sister Amy Draper, his 4 grandchildren and his 13 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister Wendy Jo Jaimeson and his son Aaron James Wakefield.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8th, 2021, at 2 p.m.  at 495 South State Street, Orem, UT 84058.
