Clair "Joey" Call

December 19, 1976 — February 4, 2024

Eagle Mountain

It is with impossible sadness we announce the passing of our beloved son/brother/dad/friend Clair Joseph Call, best known to all as Joey. He passed away, surrounded by family, on the evening of February 4th, 2024, in Murray Utah, following a severe stroke.

Joey was the first-born son to our family, born December 19, 1976, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He always took family very seriously and kept the people he loved close. Joey lived life with bold fearlessness, curiosity, and fascination. He was a great learner, storyteller, thrill seeker, playful debater, and fiercely loyal friend who knew how to show up and stay for as long as was needed. He was a devoted family man to his children, son, Roman (9), daughter, Sophia (12), and cared very deeply for their mother, Nadia Call. He was purposeful about the conversations he had with his kids, and his time with them was always protected. He wanted them to know without a doubt how much they meant to him. A few years ago, Joey added a new family member to his household... a beloved bulldog named Chunk, who brought Joey many laughs and joy.

Joey loved his neighbors and friends and spent a lot of time doing remodeling work on their homes, running a business called Ideal Remodel. He was well known for his work talents, but he was also known for his epic annual fireworks shows and fun backyard barbecues. Joey loved long Lagoon Days with his family, vacationing, going to soccer games, and playing video games with his kids. He never passed up a midnight conversation with his siblings if he could help it.

Joey will be sorely missed. Life will never be the same without him. We are forever changed and shaped by him. Joey, we love you to the moon and back and beyond. Always. Thank you for the memories. They will one day help make this separation bearable. But today, our hearts are crushed. What we wouldn’t do for just one more day with you.

Joey is survived by his parents, Ann Nelson Pyne (Dee Randy Pyne), and Clair Johnson Call (Sandra Rogers Call). His beautiful children, Roman and Sophia, and their mother Nadia Call. His siblings, Jessica Damon-Pugsley (Mark), Eliza Kindrick (Jeff), Kully Call Harding, Reagan Call (Alisha), Kade Call (Raylynn), Audrey O’Brien (Nate), Hayden Pyne (Sandi), and Brooke Coombs.

A Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held for Joey on Monday, February 19th at the Shade Glasshouse Venue located at 435 S Geneva Road in Orem, Utah.  Doors open at 4:00 pm, service starts at 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe account has been set up for the benefit of Joey’s children.  https://gofund.me/d7afe781
